Zimria Festivale Atlanta
William O. Baker, DMA, Music Director; Thomas Dixon, DMA, Associate Director
Est. 2015
Zimria Festivale Atlanta is a professional chorus of 12 musicians dedicated to the study and performance of music by Jewish composers and the rich heritage of Jewish tradition, led by Dr. William Baker and Associate Director Dr. Thomas Dixon. In 2026 the Zimria ensemble was re-imagined as a professional chorus by leaders in the Atlanta Jewish community.
They intend to perform choral a cappella music of Jewish heritage along with classic masterworks with professional orchestra and soloists. Zimria celebrates the heritage of Jewish music by performing in multiple languages, including Yiddish, Hebrew, and English. Future projects include Judas Maccabaeus by Handel and Ernest Bloch’s magnificent Avodath Hakodesh (Sacred Service) at The Temple in Atlanta.
