The Summer Ringers Academy, led by Music Director Amy Chinnery-Valmassei and Associate Music Director Robert Abbott, learns and performs approximately 10 handbell selections on a beginning to intermediate level of skill with four octaves of handbells and hand chimes in a fun, workshop-style environment. During the summer, all members are taught different ringing and percussive techniques, such as four-in-hand, shelly ring, dampening, marts, thumb damps, tower swings, plucks, and malleting.

Summer Ringers Academy is a non-auditioned group, welcoming all adult and mature youth who can read music. The concert at the end of the summer is interactive, with a handbell zoo after the concert where the audience can learn more about playing the bells and chimes from the members.

This is a summer ensemble. Rehearsals and concerts take place in the summer season only.
