Dr. Pratima (Manu) Singh was born in Hyderabad, India, and relocated to the Kansas City area when she was 11 months old. She grew up in Higginsville, Missouri, where public-school music first shaped her. While pursuing a medical degree at the University of Missouri–Kansas City she remained active in music through the university and her church. After graduating from UMKC in 1999 she completed residency and fellowship in St. Louis and sang with the Bach Society of St. Louis Chorus under Dr. Dennis Sparger.

She became a member of the William Baker Festival Singers in 2006 and Kansas City Bronze in 2021, and performs frequently with the Summer Singers of Kansas City. She is a soloist on the Festival Singers recording AMERICAN VOICES and sang as soloist for the inaugural season of Northland Summer Singers in 2025. She previously served on the Board in the 2000s, helping lead major grant applications for state arts funding.

She lives in Overland Park, Kansas. In addition to working full-time as a pathologist for HCA Healthcare, she writes and performs original musical comedy at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, is a percussionist with the Bonner Springs City Band, and arranges and performs Christmas music at the Overland Park Arboretum’s Luminary Walk on guitar, percussion, and voice.
